Another telephone scam ?

I have just had a call to my mobile asking for my daughter from the life insurance policy review team, they used her name but had my DOB .

I corrected them but did not give them my name or any other details but she said everyone had to have a review, she couldn't tell me who my policy was with and couldn't explain how if they have no details they can review anything !!

After saying I believed it was some sort of scam and not to ring again I hung up .

Has anyone else had these muppets on the phone ?

After googling the number 01144409994 seems they can get quite aggressive.

01144409994 is a bogus number. "011" is the international access code, "44" is the international code for the UK. Which leaves the remain digits (0)409994 which is not a valid UK number.

0114 is the area code for Sheffield.

Good point, the international access code used to be 011...it's just 00 now. Shows how long since I last dialled an international number.
