Urgent advice needed please!
Recently when applying for a mortgage, we found that my husband had a CCJ. We were advised that if we could settle the debt, the mortgage would be accepted.
On contacting Northampton CCMCC we were given the number for the claimants solicitors. They informed me they no longer deal with this matter. After going bsck to CCMCC I was told the debt is with "civil enforcement ltd" at Horton House, Exchange flags, Liverpool. I have called 2 different numbers for Civil enforcement and left numerous voicemails along with emails and a letter. I have had no response at all.
I don't know what to do now? Has anyone had experience of dealing with Civil Enforcement? If I don't get the debt settled we may never be able to get the mortgage. (This is important as we have been on interest only, and need to remortgage in order to stand a chance if ever paying our mortgage off!)
Thanks!
