Bypassing Exit Fees to change supplier - is it achievable
One for all you MSE's out there.
If your existing energy supplier operates exit fees on a fixed term deal, but which only apply if you switch to another supplier and then your supplier unveils a new deal which is more competitive than you current deal which you can move to without being subject to the exit fees on your current deal and the new deal operates no exit fees, can anyone see a reason once you're on the new deal, why if an external supplier then unveiled an eye popping deal you couldn't then just switch as normal at no cost as I'm not aware beyond the 14 day cooling off period and the time it takes to move between external suppliers, there's any minimum period you're ever locked into a new deal before jumping ship.
Answers on a postcard:)

You really need to work on your paragraph and sentence structure as it took a few reads to decipher your post. It is one long sentence!
Yes that is perfectly doable. It has been discussed before. Which supplier? What tariff? British Gas for example allow you to switch to a standard tariff without exit fees. You are then free to switch away.0 -
It had been a long day, so apologies for the lack of full stops and commas.
That aside, your thoughts mirror mine and thankfully switching tariffs is at least a simple online process with my current provider.0
