Which graphics card can I use with my PC?

Usually OK with this type of thing but this one has me beaten.

I have a Packard Bell iXtreme X9610 with a Packard Bell BV MCP73 1.XX motherboard. Currently have an Nvidia 9600GS in it but it's started playing up and crashing the PC with the blue screen of death.

Wanting to replace the graphics card so does anyone have any recommendations of ones that will work/fit?

Looks like its a used one then... any opinion on the 9600 GT?

I was going to suggest changing the motherboard/cpu/memory for more modern stuff either used or new , can you confirm your CPU / memory and type v of drive(s) (ide or sata)


is it a Core 2 Quad Processor Q8200 or different one fitted

Thanks for the suggestion. Don't think that it is this type of problem as it's still crashing even after updating the graphics card driver. Have opted for a GT620. OK, not the most exciting card but hopefully will solve the problem.

Hard to be 100% sure but I'm sure it said VIDEO_TS_ERROR or similar and then went black. It's only on the blue screen for less than 5 seconds before restarting

were you playing a dvd or some video in a video player like vlc at the time
