    You could get a key cut that just lets you open the car, cheap enough.
    Only handy if you lock the key in the car.
    That's what I did for a previous car.

    If it doesn't start the engine too, it's not much use to me.

    For those interested, the new keys have arrived.

    The guy told me that these would be new keys as the type I have can't be cloned. The old key has automatically been erased from the car but can be put back on if I find it. The whole thing, money aside, was quick and painless.
