Painting fridge door?

My fridge door is covered in millions of tiny rust spots. I think I overcleaned it:o Does anyone have any experience of painting or spraying over rust? I went to Focus and saw some spray paint, but not sure if it will cover the rust. The same thing is on my chrom (I think they're chrome) shower poles. Can I paint over them? I've tried every possible cleaner but it just makes it worse.

Thanks for any tips
Shanni

The shower poles, might as well replace, as they're not dear.

The fridge, though, is it old, or just a coule or so years?

There was a problem mentioned on our BBC local radio, where this was apprent, on some Zanusi, I think & the customers got new doors/fridges!

Otherwise, if it is getting on a bit, I wouldn't try & spray such a big area, but you might try Hammerite Smooth white paint & brush it. This will be better than ordinary paints, which will show the rust through, not long after you do it.

Yes you can respray. Treat the rust first with a water based rust treatment from car accessory shop, then spray (plenty of ventillation or outside) or take the door off and ask your local car body shop to do a professional job. Shower poles tricky as the slider will take off any paint. A new one is quite cheap, look in B&Q etc. casualty area they may have packets with bits missing.

Go to Halfords and buy a tube of Autosol metal polish, which should shift the rust spots on your chrome shower pole.
