Hi,
I have read on the benefits and work newsletter that 45% of people are loosing their motability car, and one poster has said rather than loose it, she is going to buy it from the motability charity.
Just wonder what it the criteria for this, if a person is found to be no longer entitled to the motability car, but would like to buy it if possible?
1 Must they have had the car for three years?
2 Can they still buy it, if found no longer entitled to it, through DLA or PIP?
Thanks for any clarification?

No, you can buy it for the agreed price if you have had it less than 3 years. Also remember Motability are giving upto £2000 to people who lose their DLA / PIP, upto £2000 depending on how long you have been a customer with them.0

From what I've read, in these circumstances Motability will offer a reasonable (not particularly cheap) price for the car less the £2k, depending on how long you have been one of their 'customers'.
