No, not Spain, no. Just a rather short ferry ride away.

I did try googling, but all I got for my efforts was people wondering if they could drive their English cars on vacation in France. Or people wanting to import foreign cars. Not helpful.

I'll take a look at the links.

What's the can of worms? If a Brit has moved to the continent and took their car with them, where's the scam if I buy it off of them and drive it back here?

If it's just a short ferry ride away, and the car is roadworthy and legal, why doesn't the current owner drive it back to the UK to sell it for a decent price?
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

Fill in the V5C as you would normally, and post it to Swansea.

You know this can be done online now? I didn't until I sold my 9-5 last month and the full process was completed on the buyer's doorstep.

what's so special about this car apart from having contraband concealed all under the floorpan of the car?

The fact that you are no even disclosing the country in which you want to export from suggests something is dodgy

The OP has probably seen an Autotrader / similar ad for a low mileage three year old car which should cost £12,000 being advertised for £6,000 "don't worry we'll ship it to you because the car is in <insert country> and is completely 100% legit because <insert complicated reason involving registration documents and hip replacements why the car is 100% legit and legal but the owner cannot drive it to sell it in the UK>" and doesn't want us lot Googling it so we can steal the car of their dreams. N'est-ce pas?
