MSE hiding BG's feedback in comparison thread?

I hope im not being too cynical but it seems to me that MSE are going out of there way to push BG's new deals when most of the time they used to slate them.....this is fair enough as they are the cheapest at the moment however as far as I can see there is no way to view their % feedback like all the other providors, you can view the thread with feedback in but nobody is going to wade through all that. I hope its just an oversite on MSE's part as it would significantly undermine there unbiased editorials in my view.

P.s. I meant comparison chart not thread.

I noticed that too, I am sure it was there last week.

I have just scrolled down until I reached another BG tariff and it's there

Latest poll rating: 38% great, 28% poor (360 votes)

The tariffs are dearer for the 2017 switch than the 2016 switch, where is the saving?

    Hi Big_Herc

Just to add to the previous comment, we do show the poll results under the review of the tariff. We also highlight under the 'not good for you' section that British Gas isn't the best option for you if you want the best levels of customer service.

The other thing to add is that as part of our negotiations the winning suppliers have promised boosted customer service levels.

We've pushed super hard for this and gone further than ever before to try and reduce the number of issues which our users have. For example this time around British Gas have created a separate and dedicated collective switch contact centre in Cardiff who will only be handling calls from MSE users. We've also got it to send out additional bespoke emails and change some the process we found were broken when dealing with it in the past.

So all going to plan, we'd expect you to see a different level of service to that of a standard British Gas switch.

    Hi Lesliem38

This is fairly unusual, we've had plenty of users tell us that they can make additional savings. On average usage the 2017 tariff is over £50 cheaper.

Mine are both a little lower and a drop in standing charge from 25p to 19 p plus £30 cashback..maybe depends on area.
  • I couldn't see the poll results under the tarif review? I have found them but I couldnt see a way of getting to them from the comparison chart?

please tell us why not have them in plain sight like every other tarif?

You also say that you quotë not the best if you want "the best level of customer service" when it actually says "Want a firm with the very best customer service" a small change but makes a world of difference because you are implying they are good but not the very best. At 38% they are terrible and the wording should be "not the best if you: Want a firm with good customer service"

This all stinks to me, Do you get a bigger kick back from BG? Would be interesting to see all the different kickbacks you get paid......

I think I explained in my earlier post why the write-up and poll results are shown differently - the key point to takeaway is the boosted customer service.

But to be absolutely clear, we have no preference if you choose a non-collective switch other a collective tariff. Our aim here at MSE is to help users save money on ANY tariff - there is no financial benefit for to us for a user switching to British Gas over say Npower.
  • No you didn't really explain why it was omitted you just said they are improving their customer service which is not really a reason to hide it. You should have it on display like all other providors otherwise its not really a fair comparison. I'm sure the other providors are taking steps to improve their customer service but don't get the benefit of hiding their feedback %.

Why not display it with a * next to it with an editorial explaining they are working to improve customer service. Or just have it displayed and put the custoemr service explanation in the full review rather than the other way around......

Also I didn't ask whether you had a preference I just asked whether you got a bigger kickback from BG.......

The key point to takeaway I think is if their customer feedback improves with their efforts great but just saying they are going to improve it isn't really a reason to surreptitiously hide it.

    Hi Big_Herc

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one - I don't agree that the information is 'hidden', just displayed in a different way as part our collective write-up. The tariff information available for a collective tariff really is much more detailed than what we have elsewhere.
