Thomas Cook Holiday Increase After Booking

I booked a holiday through Thomas Cook on Monday to Orlando for 3 people in 3 separate rooms. The total cost was just over £3500, Thomas Cook have got in contact today to say that the price has now increased to just over £5000. They said it was due to an "issue" with us not being charged a single occupancy fee but my invoice shows a room supplement of £70 per person.
I understand that there can be pricing errors but the holiday has been showing this price for the last month. Thomas Cook have given me 7 days to either accept the new price or cancel. I have currently paid £275 towards the holiday. Is there anything that I can do or do I just have to accept it.
Thanks

No you don't have to accept it. Just cancel and have another look around.
Plenty more holidays.
It's probably cheaper booking flights and hotels separately anywaytravelover0 -
Did you book it directly with Thomas Cook, on their own website?
Or have you booked it via a different online travel agent and your flights are with Thomas Cook?
It's quite unusual for Thomas Cook to increase the price after booking but can be quite common for online travel agents such as A1 Travel, Imperial Travel or Teletext Holidays to do this as they don't use a 'live' system.
Have you actually rang Thomas Cook using one of their own numbers on their website to check that this is correct as it sounds a little bit suspicious to me.Lea

I bet if it was the other way round & the price had decreased they wouldn't offer you the difference. Have a look on the ABTA website you might get done help on there0
