I have been looking for a few branded items and found the same sellers are cheaper on Amazon than Ebay. Item £22 in shops, £18 - 20 Ebay and £17 on Amazon. Is it the charges on Ebay or some other reason ?

Sometimes Amazon will advertise items with 'Free Shipping' but you need to spend over £20.00 in total to get it. Unless of course you sign up for Prime which of course costs money.0

There is no easy answer to that one. As a general rule, and it is very general, Amazon fees for a seller can be slightly higher than those on eBay. However, there may be more factors in play than just selling costs, sellers may be running with the market or any other reasons why they might allow their items to sell for less on Amazon.
Just make sure though of item location, I've had to give up with Amazon marketplace as I've been misled a couple of times now by sellers showing UK details and a UK shipping address and then sending from the Far East.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Amazon offer sellers fee incentives. It may be the particular items you are looking at have fee offers for the sellers. Sometimes the discounts can take the fees down to a few percent.0

They are mainly Ebay sellers I have used before so no problems with location. Just weird that they can charge 10 to 15% less on Amazon.0

I think it is easier to find items on price in Amazon. I sell a couple of things on Ebay more expensive than other sellers on Ebay but still sell them regularly. Then again some Ebay sellers sell some things more than I do but still sell as much as me.
This is why I prefer selling on Ebay. I can provide better customer service and multiple buy offers than other sellers and so sell items for more than others. On Amazon it just becomes a race to the bottom.0 -

I've never heard of that and certainly never been offered any and I shift a fair bit of stuff on Amazon.
Generally speaking the fees between the two are much the same. The way Amazon works means that prices change more frequently than on Ebay. The chances are that a popular product that is cheaper this week may be dearer next.
It's always work checking the two marketplaces and others too. If I'm shopping I'll put items in my Amazon basket and then double check eBay before I check out..0 -

We shift a lot.
The offer comes in the form of an email, I will try and dig one out. It does only list half a dozen or less items and gives you the price they would like you to sell at, in return for lower fees. The lowest I have had is 2%, but the norm is 5%.0 -
Found one.
They call it a 'limited time referral fee' and it says:Dear Seller,
We are offering you a limited-time referral fee discount for the ASINs listed below. This promotion will run from 19 January 2016 (GMT) to 17 February 2016 (GMT), after which standard referral fees will apply.
During this promotion, if the total sales price per item (the total amount paid by the buyer including the item price and any shipping or gift wrap charges) is equal to or less than the promotion threshold price, your referral fee rate for each applicable ASIN sale will be reduced by 5 percentage points.
For example, if the total sales price of an ASIN in the list below is equal to or less than the promotion threshold, and if that ASIN is in a category with a 15% referral fee, you will pay a 10% referral fee on that sale instead of the standard 15% referral fee.
ASIN Item Name Promotion Threshold
We will apply the referral fee discount at the time fees are calculated for any applicable ASINs sold at or less than the promotion threshold during the promotional time period. Where the total sales price is greater than the promotion threshold, standard referral fees will apply. The ASIN condition must be “new” and listed on Amazon.co.uk to be eligible for the promotion. Referral fee discounts will show up as a “Referral Fee Discount” line item in your Transaction Details. For information on standard referral fee rates, please see the Selling on Amazon Fee Schedule.
We may terminate this promotion at any time at our discretion. Early termination will not affect promotional referral fee discounts for sales occurring prior to termination.
Please note that the terms of this promotion are confidential information under the terms of your seller agreement. If you have questions about this promotion, please click the Contact Seller Support link in Seller Central.
Thank you for selling on Amazon..

Obviously I have removed the details. But it will give you the ASIN, name of product and the price.0 -
I've recently found Amazon to be more expensive on certain paperbacks. Whilst I have to spend £10 to get free P&P with Amazon, I also found WHSmith had the books £3 cheaper, so used them!0

Thanks for that. I only sell my own branded products, so I think that would explain why I haven't had one. Either that or they just dint like me!.0
