Washer/Dryer tripping my electrics

I put my machine to wash and about 10 mins later the electricity shut down (only downstairs). I switched off all appliances I had on checked the electrics box and push button back up, electricity back on. Switched them on again, switched washing machine on and 2 mins later the power went off again. I left it for about 2 hours and then I decided to do a rinse programme to remove all the water from machine, this worked fine. But soon as I put it on a wash programme, trips electrics. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?
