Hi All,

We have a 2014 63 plate Orlando 2.0 VCDi LT.

I noticed that the alloy wheels looked as if they were 'bubbling' so I contacted my local approved dealer.

I sent photos to them yesterday via email and they replied this morning stating that all 4 alloys would be replaced at no charge.

Apparently there is a known issue on this models alloy wheels and therefore replacements are being issued.

Yes I know Chevrolet are leaving the UK but their dealer support is normally a Vauxhall garage and thus far has been tip-top.

    That's a good result.

Its a good result, but shouldnt be happening in the first place.

Having said that, I've had alloy wheels replaced under manufacturer warranty by BMW, VW and Toyota...

It is mainly because the modern eco-friendly "paint" doesn't stick and resist salt water corrosion like the old toxic & carcinogenic zinc chromate primers used to.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • A lot better than Ford who refused anything to do with my alloys after 14 months and 6,000 miles:mad:

Apparently their 3 year warranty is only 12 months on wheels and trim items.
