Energy bill saving?

Hi
I'm new in here but felt I had to tell people of the great saving I made with your simple comparison engine.
We was with the utility warehouse for the last 18 or so months and paying £210 month. I have now done the comparison and even though they were not the cheapest So Energy who had great reviews on more than one website saved us £90 a MONTH! Fixed at £120 a month until 28th Feb 2017 with a £5 early cancellation fee.
I think that's great. Maybe too great? Hope I haven't been caught out or done something wrong.
Thanks
George :money:

glad you made a saving by switching,

as for being caught out etc, as long as you entered the correct kwh usage over the year when you did the comparison then the savings shown should be on par with the comparison results/savings given to you.
  • Hi,

    'Fixed at £120 a month until 28th Feb 2017.'

Is the price per unit fixed?

What happens if your usage goes up by say 10%?
  • Good to hear to you made a comparison in an attempt save money.

    A few points.

    1) How are you comparing? Are you using actual annual KWH figures? Have you used two actual meter readings 1 year apart to get an annual KWH figure?

This will give you much more accurate results compared to using Direct Debit figures.

2)If you are on a fixed tariff which ends soon. Ensure the comparison site is not assuming that will will go onto an expensive standard tariff. This can inflate savings results. Although, I do not think cheapenergyclub does this by default.
  • I put in my kWh from my previous statement.
    Estimated for the year
  • Hi,

do you mean your usage was estimated for the year?

Methinks you might be in for a shock in a years time, especially when such a big drop in monthly payments.
  • Your monthly payments won't be fixed but will be amended periodically according to your consumption.

Now you have a new supplier it's time for you to do things differently - give So Energy your monthly readings.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
