Do you really expect anyone cold-calling to tell you that they are not the cheapest?
I thought door to door energy sales had been banned by the regulator? Does this not apply to PPM's?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

why would u trust someone at the door telling you they are ££ cheaper than all the rest? least of all a company that you have never heard of

always do your own comparison if you ever think of switching however tempting the offer may sound at the door.

afterall they are there to make commission, they are not there to save you money even if they come up with figures that sound good (genuine or not)

I thought that Loyalty Credits were against Ofgem's rules: I am happy to be corrected. From the Ofgem website:

Cash discounts will be simplified. Suppliers will only be able to offer two cash discounts, one for dual fuel (where a consumer takes gas and electricity from the same supplier) and one for managing your account online. These will be displayed in a simple pounds-per-year format. We are also banning restrictive discounts which made it difficult to compare the costs of tariffs.

I appreciate that supplier may be linking its Loyalty Credit to one of the above cases.

  • There are scammers going round knocking on doors with cloned prepayment meter cards offering half price electricity as a loyalty bonus. This is fraudulent and even the police are interested in this scam. Anyone grabbing at the half price deal will get the credit applied but the suppliers know about it and wont allow it and will delete the added credit so anyone trying this has lost their money and suppliers will not refund it.
I m not saying this one was a fraudster but it sounds very odd

    Allow me:

    http://www.e.org

When is a Fixed Deal not a Fixed Deal? Ans: When it is a 12 month price freeze.

All the above is a pretty amateurish way of trying to make out that E Energy is different from all the rest. That said, I am sure that some people will fall for it.

    Edit:

I have just run my annual consumption projections through E's website and got a quote back of £983.10*. Even allowing for the £50 loyalty bonus, this would still be an increase of £220 per year for me.

Beware of the man at the door.

    *Assuming VAT already included.
