are Eon having a laugh with their new v20 tariff?
over £200 + more expensive than the v17.v18 and v19 lol

I guess they making up for the lost revenue after dropping the age uk tariff

got to make they money back somehow I guess

I would like to know why there as been a MASSIVE hike in prices from the previous v17 v18 and v19, why all of a sudden have your tariffs become cheap/ish......

to all of a sudden blow any credibility you had with customers, by releasing a tariff that should have been similer in price if not cheaper than the rather rushed v17 v18 v19 (ALL RELEASED WITHIN DAYS OF EACH OTHER)

to suddenly we get v20 which for me is £200+ more expensive, did the person who thought up this tariff have a bit too much to drink the night before they released it? why would anyone take up this offer when clearly is doesn't come even in the top 10, let alone the top 20 tariffs out there lol

very bad thought/planning on whoever released this one lol

  • Why worry? You don't have to go on it. How have Eon lost credibility? There are cheaper tariffs out there just go somewhere else.

I moved over to v19 a couple of weeks ago from v17. So I'm happy. If v20 were cheaper then I would have moved to it. If another supplier was substantially cheaper than v19 I would move there.

I like eon. In my experience, they have the best customer service and their online account management is good. But this alone would not stop me moving if I could save money. In the meantime, v19 fixed suits me well for the next 12 months if nothing cheaper comes along.

  • I,m not worried, but why release cheap tariffs, v17,v18 v19, and then suddenly bam, a massive £200+ increase with the v20,

whats the justification of the massive increase in price when the previous 3 were similer in price

as far as I can see there isn't any

maybe one of the Eon reps would care to explain this, (or as we have seen they have no control over this which I understand)

but maybe they can ask their employer as to why they have released the v20 that is such out of touch with the previous 3 v tariffs

Moved to v19 yesterday from USwitch EON deal to save ~ £30 pa, as an interim step awaiting EHL/ICHOSR collectives and with MSE BG deal as "backstop" (which would save a further £39 pa) -very shocked to do comparison this am to find that v20 is £370 pa more !! its only a few quid less than standard !!:eek:

I agree with OP - they are having a larf !!!:rotfl:

    I agree.

I still cannot believe the saving we are making from the uswitch collective last October.

We are saving an anticipated £300.

Good for us but I think all these different tariff deals are ridiculous.

    Hi NittyGritty,

I understand you've seen my post, I really can't comment on why or who decided etc about V20 because we just don't know.

We have nothing to do with these sorts of business decisions, we're here as customer service advisers.

I have fed back the comments on the threads about it being more expensive, that really is everything I can do.

I'm sorry I can't give reasons why etc.

Not ridiculous (good or bad). They are finally beginning to (reluctantly) filter through the drop in wholesale gas/oil prices. Electricity has been slower to drop though and in some cases, has been going up.

Who knows why Eon have put prices back up though. Could be a reaction to the Age Concern mess as others have mentioned.

Looks like it was a good decision for me to initiate a switch to Eon last night before they removed the v19.

Unless Scottish Power bring out a competitive 1 year fix soon, I may complete the switch.

I can understand you have no info regarding Eon's activitys in releasing new tariffs or pricing strategys

but I also know that there must be an official statement somewhere in the company that you could find out,

the statement you made yesterday by whoever gave that info (about it being "appropriately priced"to you was if I,m honest a completely and utterly shoddy one

we all know prices have dropped, yet you INCREASED the tariff MASSIVELY, when there is no justification for the increase.

why was the 3 previous tariffs v17 v18 v19 all low then all of a sudden you release the v20 at such a laughable increase, that came outside the top 20 tariffs currently on the market

can you confirm and find out if this was due to or connected with the termination of the AGE UK tariff?

while I understand you have no info yourself, that doesn't mean you cant find out tho?

and just one more question just who gave you that info yesterday ? was it the marketing side or someone else high up

to me Eon have shot themselves in the foot with this v20, all the good work they did with the cheap/lowish tariff, as been completely shot to pieces with this latest tariff, as it works out as one of the MOST EXPENSIVE 1 year fix on the market

just makes no sense whatsoever as to why Eon did this (at least not to me) unless of course its a way to replace the age uk tariff, with prices still low and have been for a while, we see a tiny reduction in prices by the big 6 yet you come out and RAISE prices by £200+ and in some cases OVER £300!!! with your latest tariff
