Where to start Npower

Hi sorry but this could be a long post.

Back in Aug 2015 I noticed my meter wasn't working as it should( Economy 7) The numbers hadn't moved for nearly a year on the low tarrif side,I only noticed this after downloading the npower app. Yes I was guilty of not paying attention to my meter readings or usage but now I pay much more attention to this.

I contacted npower to notify the of the faulty meter and it was changed soon after and was told it would be 45 days to rectify my overspend due to faulty meter.

The same day it was changed I contacted npower to change from an economy 7 tarrif to a normal one and was told this was no problem and my projected costs were a lot cheaper, Great .

After numerous calls to npower giving old meter serial number and final readings and new meter number and readings I'm still no further forward but to ad to this mess when I checked my account I seem to have been changed back to economy 7 Arrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have wanted to switch suppler on a couple of occasions since this mess began but I can't due to this mess which I feel is very unfair.

Any advice would be welcome thanks.

NPower may be tardy in sorting the problem, but I'm afraid the 'mess' is not their fault.

If you didn't have your meter read or send in readings they had no way of knowing that your meter had failed, as they would be using estimated readings, having not received any actual ones.
  • The meter was read on 3 occasions by a rep I also sent them readings during this time so I think it is npower fault.
