checking seat availability before booking ?

Is there anywhere I can check seat availability on Cathay Pacific business class before booking? They don't seem to have an option until the booking is done. Then I may find there are no seats together!

Calling them would be the obvious answer. Other than that you could try to book, say, 8 seats to give you an idea how many are free. It wouldn't answer your question but it would give a hint. If it turns out that there are only 2 or 3 free seats they're probably unlikely to be adjacent.0

Thanks. I would have just liked to look over 2 or 3 days to see which was my best option. Going to Sydney.travelover0

You should be able to check seat allocations on Cathay Pacific if booking through the website direct. I booked premium economy seats last year, and you get the option to choose seats before making your payment. I would expect it to be same for business class, although you don't get the option for economy.0

If you booking direct with Cathay you can choose your seats before making payment, just be aware that their business class seats are designed for the business traveller so are fairly private and not overly couple friendly, even if you have adjoining centre seats you'll both have to lean forward just to see each other.0

Thankyou. I will take another look, maybe I didn't look properly!travelover0

Using expedia.com (not expedia.co.uk) allows you to browse seat selection on airlines prior to booking. Maybe not be 100% accurate YMMV. There are other options, but they require paid website subscriptions to access.Legal team on standby0

Sign up to free expert flyer, you can do a few dummy seat checks each day. This does not guarantee seat availability but is a good guide:

If you really want to get into checking availability you would need to use KVS checker which you have to pay for. If you go onto flyertalk and onto the cathay forum on there, there may be someone on there that can do a load check for you.0 -
Have a look on seat guru it might help?0
