Credit card companies should not have charged excessive fees of £35 for over limit or late payment fees. Common sense usually prevails but if you are in debt you cannot always control your repayments.

Be careful with the CAG guys and Brown1950 in particular, he/she will always tell you to take credit card companies to court and believes they will fold and / or not turn up so you win by default based on very little more than anecdotal evidence. Every time he/she posts I challenge him/her to put up his/her own money to cover the costs of the small claims court which, given he/she believes you will win every time, would mean no risk at all, but he/she always goes quiet on that point.

No doubt you will make up your own mind if you wish to persue your credit card company for a refund of
late payment/over credit limit fee's. The link i sent should help.
