E.on v20 unavailable - site down due to maintenance
Alas, E.on didn't quite seem to get v20 out for Wed morning. Site is currently down for maintenance.
'We're doing essential maintenance on our switch pages at the moment. We’re sorry for any inconvenience, we'll be back up and running as soon as possible.'
Here's hoping they can fix it soon, if only to appease the MSE collective!

It's always like this when they load the new tariffs.
Don't panic!Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
I have just got a quote on their site. OMG !! I very much doubt they are going to get any takers at those prices. Electric TCR 3.3p more than the Sep collective and gas TCR 1.5p higher than my current Zog which is not the cheapest. £336 more than I curently pay  The only plus point is no exit fee so you could use it as a short term get of jail free card

I signed up for v19 yesterday and am SO GLAD I did, as I logged on this morning to check out v20 and to my horror v20 would be £714 per year more expensive for me than v19! (v19=£1,880, v20=£2,602). Scandalous!!!0

Your current tariff
E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v19
£675.87 per year
E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v20
£800.10 per year
Really EON ?!0 -
Wow! I (stupidly) held off gettting V19 as I thought, wrongly that V20 would be cheaper! By promoting V20 a week ago, they've certainly lost someone that was going to switch to them from Scottish Power. Oh well, BG here I come, was hoping I didn't have to as would have preferred E.on.
I wonder how many others have done this. I wish I took V19 yesterday, my own fault I suppose.0 -
Got a quote from Eon (already use them for electricity) for dual fuel monthly DD on V20, and £250 a year more than I pay currently.
Abysmal.0 -
This is ridiculous, and, in my opinion, an unacceptable way of managing customer numbers. No way can E.oN justify a £230 per year increase on my £660 per year tariff. It is time that Ofgem put a stop to these sort of practices. It makes the Age UK 2 Year Fix look good.
Edit:
I have just e-mailed consumeraffairs@ofgem.gov.uk expressing my concern at E.oN's frequent changes to their four tariffs which, in my view, are not in the consumers' best interests. I suggest that others might like to do the same. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Massive anti climax-Crazy prices! £240 more for me-One of the worst deals on the market!0

As you say, clearly V19 was too successful and been pulled to control customer numbers and protect margins. Nobody in their right mind would move to this, and they know that. There is no reason that I know off that would justify such a massive rise, wholesale prices certainly haven't risen that much since oil hit $28 a barrel, nor have futures.
Most likely why it was leaked so early that V20 was coming out to tempt people to hold off.0 -
Wow. That's an increase.
It's clearly because they've stopped selling the Age UK product, and need to make it look to press and ofgem/etc that it wasn't a terrible deal.
I'm sure in a month or so once all the publicity calms down they'll be right back at offering competitive tariffs - until then they just want all the attention to go away, clearly!0
