Return of Faulty Goods

OK...to keep a long story short I purchased new computer from Dell. New computer died after 7 days. Replacement has been received but they have not collected the faulty one. Dell just tell me it will be collected at sometime...very helpful!!
Is there a law that states after a certain amount of time has passed I can do as I please with the goods waiting for collection or must I hold onto them indefinitely? Would this fall under the unsolicited goods act? I have contacted Dell by phone and email requesting that they collect the broken computer ASAP but with no luck so far.
Thanks

The owner can seek the return of the goods, or their monetary value, from you for up to six years.
Meanwhile, you need to look after the thing as if it were you own, so no leaving it out on the pavement while waiting for them to collect it.
