  • I'm a bit confused as your previous posts show you were sending items with royal mail in the start of decemeber.

Anyway, I guess it all depends are you both british or from different countries? Where were you living before you came back? Do you have property together in this other country, or in the uk? Do you have children together? Do you have shared bank accounts / credit cards? Do you have shared savings? Do you have somewhere to live now you're back? Do you have a job back here or how are you supporting yourself?

hi OP, sorry to hear that you have been treated this way.

How long have you been married? You need to have been married for over one year before you can obtain a divorce and as long as one of you is habitually resident in England and Wales you can issue divorce proceedings here even if the other is abroad.

If you're not able to afford a divorce you may qualify for legal aid if you can show that you have been the victim of domestic abuse from your ex-partner and also that you are financially eligible for Legal Aid. If you are suffering from a condition attributable to domestic abuse and your GP is willing to confirm this you can obtain a letter in this format: - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/give-evidence-of-injuries-consistent-with-domestic-violence

A Solicitor can calculate whether you are financially eligible by conducting a Legal Help assessment and if you are eligible, then you will not have to pay for the divorce.

Are there are financial matters to resolve - eg kids or any jointly owned property or debts?
