Google Play Store on Kindle fire

I'm not tech savvy whatsoever but have been told its possible to use Google Play store to read books on a Kindle fire is this correct and is it as easy as downloading Google Play on other tablets?


Edit: is it possible on a Kobo Vox?

I grabbed a cheap 7" Fire when they were doing them for £35... One of the first things I did was to install the Play Store, using the instructions on XDA Works a treat and root is not required.

Edit: if yours isn't the 7" 2015 Fire then you'll obviously have to find the instructions for your model

Thanks, I haven't bought one yet, was just going to pick a used one up off EBay, it's only to use on holiday so don't want to spend a lot.
The Kindle fire will be perfect then with Google Play.

Amazon are currently doing the 7" for £40. Ok, so not as good as the £35 offer before Xmas and obviously not the best tablet by a long shot but I have to say that for the price, I don't regret buying it.
