I know nobody can give me an exact distance but does anyone have an rough idea of time or distance between arrival gate(Thomson) to security and then exit...Is it possibly pushing it for someone with limited mobility using a walking stick?

I've been twice but can't remember how far it was. Try asking on the Cancun section of Tripadvisor. Could you request wheelchair assistance from Thomson?0

It's not so much the distance, but the long wait at security.
Suggest to request assistance for the queuing.

Thanks both of you, I have given in and booked assistance through Thomson just in case but I hate fuss and like to try things under my own steam so was hoping to make it through without it. I suppose the sensible thing is to take the help and thank my lucky stars I can avoid queuing.0

Not sure how you would avoid queueing, you still have to go through immigration which varies depending on the number of flights that come in at that time, you have to then pick your bags up which depends on how long the handlers take to remove them (mexican time) and then you have to go through the traffic lights to see if you will get searched which again depends on the number of people in the airport. Thomson may help you but I am not sure they can bypass all this unless something new has been put in since I was last there!0

I mean standing in a queue, I've never bothered with welfare assistant before and have always been fast tracked through security etc home and abroad once they have noticed my walking stick...This time though my mobility is worse than ever so have talked myself into using a wheelchair.0 -
It's not too far, but quite busy and frenetic. I'd say the chair could be a good plan to be honest, more so on the way back when the queues could be lengthy.
That's if you're coming back.... I'd have happily stayed!Only dead fish go with the flow...0
