  • Eye make-up remover works a treat. I use the bonus time free ones from Clinique. Shouldn't damage the plastic bottles.
  • Anything sticky on practically any surface, dog included, can be removed with ordinary cooking oil. When our old dog slid along a freshly gloss painted skirting board it was vegetable oil to the rescue. Use your fingers or a bit of old cloth to "scrub" it in and then use a cloth or kitchen towel to remove. Anything, including the dog can then be washed as normal to remove oil residue.

I can confirm that it works!

I've long since given up on buying a pepper mill that works for any length of time. What I do now is buy the ones from Aldi or the £ shop which are glass with the peppers in them (and same with sea salt). So that they look ggod on the table I take the labels off and the only way I've managed to get the glue off is with cooking oil.
