Birth certificate

Hello
I hope this is the right place to put this. I am trying to find my birth certificate but for some unknown reason, it's not in the box where it should be. I will have another look tomorrow.
However, I do have a piece of paper which is a report of child born abroad. It says American parents but actually it was to British parents (I guess they ran out). Would this count?
I only need one form of identification as I am registering to be part of a local football team but the manager said to bring both just in case

It depends on what the manager will accept and what the purpose is. Presumably you can already prove who you are. Birth certificates and similar are not proof of identity,Evolution, not revolution0

haven't you a passport or driving licence"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

Last January you lost your passport, and asked if you could use your birth certificate instead.

If the birth was registered in England & Wales you can obtain a new certificate from the registration office in the area where the birth occurred, or from the General Register Office ..... cost is about £10.0
