Tesco Under Counter Freezer

Hi
Hope some kind soul can help me. I have been trying to buy a under counter freezer from Tesco.com for the past 2 hours. Found one I liked put it in the basket. There is no where as far as I can see where you can ask and pay to have the old freezer removed and recycled. Phoned up customer services - no help at all, he advised asking them when they phone to arrange a delivery date. Yet it clearly says you have to pay for this when you order - how? He also advised me I couldn't add clubcard vouchers to help pay for it. Really?
Thanks

Is it a third party seller? The Tesco supplied ones have a tick box for the recycling option (from the few I checked).0

Oh I see you can only get this if the freezer is supplied by Tescos. Thanks for your help.0

Given up and got one from John Lewis, free delivery and free recycling. So much easier to order from them.0

I'm surprised you got disposal for free, I've bought a couple of appliances from JL and I've always been charged, and looking at a selection of their fridges all of them have a £9 disposal charge.0

You could of just rang your local scrapys who would of took your old one of your hands.0

Oh I didn't think of a scrap dealer. Thought fridges and freezers were a bit dangerous to get rid off. Definitely free recycling and delivery. Brought a Zanussi. John Lewis website was so much easier to order from. Just looked on the website it's free disposal until 29.2.160

Scrap men wont take old freezers, the best you can hope for is that they will take the motor out. They need to be disposed of properly because of the gasses within them.
There is usually an area at the local tip where you can leave them to be stripped down for recycling (assuming you can get it there). If not the local council usually charge around £10 to collect and dispose of it safely for you.0
