Bringing Duty Free Spirits back in Plastic Bottles

  • On the odd occasion I've bought duty free, I just carried as cabin baggage.

Other than methylated, I never seen spirits for sale in plastic bottles anywhere.

Some spirits available in plastic bottles in Lanzarote. Both in shops and at the airport.
  • We always purchase our duty free in the Canaries in plastic bottles in the resorts. It is much cheaper than the airport and a lot lighter than the glass bottles. We have also been known to bring back a half consumed bottle of spirits back from the Canaries in additional to our allowance. We were stopped once by customs and were allowed through without confiscation presumably because it was not an unopened full bottle. We did get a good telling off
