    Please do not shout!

Did you state in the letter how long you expected them to reply within?

I would say two weeks for an initial reply, if they are polite enough to do this, then four weeks (in total) to resolve the matter.

Did you send the letter Recorded Delivery?
    Gone ... or have I?

In that case, the first thing you need to do is ring to see if they have actually received the letter (or if they are admitting to have received the letter).

If not, resend it by email and by Recorded Delivery.

    Hello adjolyn

I'll move this from Travel to the Consumer Vent Board which is more suited to this type of query :)

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email .

I'd do as above & if phoning to find out whether it's been received, perhaps ask about a timescale for reply (when did you send it?). Good luck :)

    Hi
I've recently complained to a travel company.

They've told me that they have 28 days from the receipt of my letter to invesigate & reply to me.

    Hope that helps a little.

    :)
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

IIRC from last year when we made a complaint, ATOL specify timelines for responses - try checking there (assuming your travel company is under ATOL).

I would send your letter again, but by recorded delivery - make sure you send a covering letter explaining it is a duplicate, ask for a response within say 14 days. If you post more details, other MSE'ers may be able to advise you on how best to proceed. These sites are useful:

    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/ Post on their forum for more assistance. Best wishes.

    OK, the actual answer is:

If they are ABTA, they have 28 days to respond, which could merely mean a letter of acknowledgement within 28 days.. And then 28 days to investigate.

    Better companies would respond quicker.

ATOL have di nada to do with anything concerning complaints.
