Switching Supplier After Moving in
Hi all
I have just moved into a property and rang up the existing company who supplies the property with gas and electric to set up an account, i chose the standard tariff so I can leave at any point after i had done some research, went through all the details etc and gave payment details for direct debit.
I am now unsure on how long i need to wait before switching, i am part of the MSE Energy club and am going to take advantage of the Big Energy Switch 4 which is currently running.
Can I just start the process now even though the previous company has not collected any payments as yet or do I need to wait a set amount of time? When I set up the account I was told I could cancel within 14 days, would it be easier if i did this and gave meter reading from the day I moved in to the new company or shall I just let the switching run its course and pay the current company from moving in day to switching day?
Hope that makes sense
Thanks

Hi Kingsd316
Worth taking a look at my post on this thread which explains how this works.

But essentially, you're free to switch whenever you like.
Thanks
