Help - need to recall payment... but how?!

This morning I made a payment from my Halifax account to another UK bank account. I sent it to the wrong account and the person let me know. How can I recall it? It's not pending, it was an instant payment under the faster payment scheme. Please help if you can... google is not my friend at this point!

If you are in contact with the recipient then just ask them to send it back again. Simples!

I've just spent an age on the phone with the Halifax. They have to go through a process that takes 20 days and it's very complicated. Of course she can just return it via a transfer, but she needs it on record that it was an incorrect payment, hence needing to be recalled officially by the Halifax.

Honestly thought I was going to be asked what my blood pressure reading and breathing rate is by the number of questions being asked!

It's upto you to check and confirm the account that it is being sent to.

Also what person let you know. Are you trying to say you didn't even realise until a person expecting a payment told you they never got....
