marketing & scam calls. When will it end?

Hi
When will these direct marketing and scam calls end. I've signed up to Telephone preference service but it makes not difference. My phone down stairs has become basically unanswerable as it full of nuisance/scam calls on more or less a daily basis.
Why is it that we can't be left in peace in our homes.
I'm fed up with it.

Get a call blocker then, I have a TrueCall and it has stopped all these types of calls completely.

I agree with whats been said. I havent had any cold calls in around 6 years. I still get them occasionally but they never get through as truecall blocks them. I get less and less each year and they must know by now there wasthing there time

Yes, I understand that there have been multiple identical posts. I just posted today after getting so stressed by it. I will look into the suggestions given.

Direct marketing calls will end when people stop buying their products over the phone.

Scam calls will end when people stop falling for scam calls.

Or the government bans such calls (probably winning the lottery jackpot is more likely).
