Hate this kind of thing, my too trusting elderly aunt got ripped off in a similar scheme. She really resented us for not being 'happy' for her when she told us she'd won a big prize.
It was a right rigmarole trying to explain there was no prize and again when a ridiculous bill dropped through the door a month later. She became ill not long afterwards (not blaming the scam) but it's a shame as dealing with this headache is my last/most vivid memories of her...0 -

I got one yesterday and in the small print it said something like they will stop passing on and using your details if you write to 'opt out' at the address given. I sent the form back with nothing on it excpet 'opt out' in big red letters on both sides. I really hope that doesn't actually make things worse and verify the address to give me more spam!
Has any one else risked sending an opt-out response?0 -

If you want to save yourself a stamp - search out "Wye Promotions Opt Out" on Google.
There's also some info about the letter on the Loquax Blog.0 -
Thankfully I was able to re-use a stamp that hadn't been franked so it didn't cost me anything!
But if I get any more similar lettters from other companies I will try looking online first.
Thanks jdsaint0 -
Tied into this site, they have had TW and FB comps posted but they don't get your address with them. (I am sure someone had it as a username but seems to have vanished)

I am tempted to try the postal entry seeing as they already know the correct spelling of my name and my address in full. It would be fun just to see how far I get when I waste a stamp to reply to them.
Does anyone have any idea what happens next if you reply via post?
They sent the Final Reminder letter on 09/03/2016 with a copy of the original letter that I ignored. It seems they are serious about giving away a prize even though they don't want to do it for free with a Freepost address or 0800 number.0 -
Just found this letter at the bottom of my door telling me I've won a prize for taking part in an online survey, straight away I thought SCAM, then second thought, but they offer a mail entry (so how can this be a scam), if they're offering mail entry. The phone entry is 6 minutes x £1.50 = £9. The text entry is 6 messages x £1.50 = £9. The postal entry = £0.90 for stamps. But then I keep reading and come to the small print and right along near the end it states "POSTAL CLAIMS ONLY ACCEPTED IN THE EVENT OF PRINTER/TECHNICAL ERRORS" "ALL CLAIMS ARE INVALID" so please anybody getting such mail through the door just burn it and get a wee heat from it cos that's all its worth, it's dodgy, they're trying to steal your money, and there is no doubt they will try and change the name to keep trying to steal your money. I had to read over this small print twice for what I was reading to sink in my head, so just read carefully and be safe.0
