email unusable - ACCESS VIOLATION box appears

My wife uses Incredimail on her laptop (please do not comment on whether anyone should use Incredimail) but whenever she goes to it a box appears saying there is an Access Violation etc and also a program must close box. Sometimes the latter does not appear and it is possible to move the first box to the side to read the messages which all seem to come through without a problem.
Any suggestions for a remedy?
