IVA finish 2 yrs ppi still ongoing

Please can anyone clear this up for me as it's doing my head in. I had an IVA started in 2009 and finished in 2014 with Grant Thornton. 2 years before it finished I got a letter off GT recommending that EIC(Expert insolvency claims) could claim ppi and IT COULD FINISH MY IVA EARLY, so signed forms hoping for an early finish to my IVA. Well my IVA went full term and £13000 got repaid from ppi claims so why was my IVA not finished early or was I misled to signing something that was never going to happen? It's been 2 years and they're still getting payments from ppi claims, still no interest back off GT aswell phoned and got fobbed off. Bitter is not the word. Please clarify

I wouldnt worry, you have finished your IVA, stopped the monthly payments, done the final review.

Make sure your defaults on your credit file are not earlier than the start of the IVA. The IVA information and defaults drop off your credit file after 6 years.

    Well done

You may get some interest back, but not worth feeling bitter as assuming you have contributed less towards your debts that you owed.

You wouldnt of been much better off if you got the refunds from the PPI claims before going into the IVA as you still would of had to pay what you could afford, and since its been over 6 years since the start your credit file will only get better from now.
  • Hi,

Look at my response within the thread named 'iva, ppi and extension' towards the bottom of the first page. Since early last year they can award completion certificates whilst ppi is still ongoing. A court ruling and my IP certainly does it. Again i have heard of some rouge companies that are not updating policy. GT seems to elicit most complaints on here.
