Bit of a long shot but does anyone know where to get a replacement electricity meter box (or specifically box door)?

I have contacted NIE and they can not help. I understand it is my responsibility to maintain. B&Q/homebase do not sell them. The company Hampton mouldings, Tetbury no longer seem to manufacture these (brown door 78 x 25cm).

    Anyone??

If you contact an Electrician they will source a replacement Pirelli Box door for you. Different Pirelli Boxes have different door sizes and number of hinges, so it certainly isn't one size fits all (and absolutely nothing to do with NIE).
  • Well I put 'meter box' in Dr Google & got about 2 million pages !!!
    Picked on out for you.......

Thanks to all but it my particular box is large, recessed and will be difficult to replace. I was hoping just to replace the door but the company no longer makes these.

Have tried all the above suggestions with the exception of a local electrician. Will give this a go.

It is not uncommon for Electricians to replace doors on a Pirelli Box as they are the most suited for this job. If your Electrician can't get hold of it then it's not there to be got!

This is the Northern Ireland board, and Travis Perkins don't have branches over here - according to their website, the nearest one is in Stranraer.

They're also known as Pirelli boxes.
