Send to non PayPal address?

I have sold an item to someone in Spain.
The buyer has paid by Paypal. Then I got an extra email asking me to send it to another address in Spain.

I'm proposing to send by RM signed and tracked service.

I have contacted my buyer twice to say I can only send to the registered PayPal address and secondly, suggesting the buyer changes that address to the one he wants sending to.

Communication is in Spanish and I don't think my buyer understands my messages in English. My buyer has an eBay feedback score of 90, which is mostly sales, so I would have thought they know about PayPal rules.

Am I safe to send to non Paypal address where I have signed and tracked service?

Someone else will correct me if I'm wrong but I *think* if you send it to a different address they can then open a claim and say it hasn't been received, your tracking will not prove otherwise as it will be under a different address.

So no, I would say it's not safe.

Cancel the sale, with 'issue with buyer's address'

You must never send items to any other address than that on the Paypal payment - paypal do say this with each and every payment you receive. They don't say this just for the fun of it, so ignore it at your peril.

Thank you both so much for the advice. I have just put out an email saying I will post to the Paypal address or else I will cancel the sale.

Do I get the eBay fees refunded if I cancel the sale for an issue with the buyer's address?

The buyer will be refunded immediately and you'll get a fee credit instantly too.

As there are language difficulties, don't ask the buyer for permission to cancel. Take control of the situation, and cancel it.
