Holiday in the middle of house purchase

I finally have an offer accepted on a house - so pleased. However, as it's taken so long I am now coming up to a 2 week holiday - first 2 weeks of March. The vendor wants to complete the purchase by early April. Is going off on holiday going to have a big impact on this timeline? In this age of the internet how important is it to be physically around in person? I can be responsive by email and text...
I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

Life goes on even if you're purchasing a property. Just make sure everyone is informed.
I completed on a Thursday and flew out on holiday 2 days later. Moved in when i got back.0 -
If stuff needs to be signed you can give your solicitor power to sign on your behalf.
And I guess you'll have a mobile to be contacted on?0 -

Probably depends on the solicitor, as well as the particular situation.
I complete on my house purchase tomorrow and I've only needed to speak to my solicitor twice, when I initially approached her to act for me and last week when she phoned to confirm we'd exchanged contracts, and met her once, when she took me though all the contract stuff and I signed my life away prior to exchange.
Apart from my initial instructions, which she needed in writing, all other communications have been by email. Granted, she already had all the ID stuff from a previous transaction and just needed a couple of documents updating with newer copies posted to her.
Just one more phone call needed - to advise me that we've completed and I can continue my journey up the M6.0 -
Well you could do as advised by others, on the other hand, how important is your holiday, compared to the house you're buying to live in for the next few years. If you're happy it could all go pear shaped and can handle the expense then go for it and just relax.

Have you got a mortgage in place yet?
I have an AIP...0 -
I was in Pompeii when we exchanged.
Rather an interesting moment that we became homeowners in the ruins of someone else's home..0 -

If it goes pear-shaped, it's pretty unlikely to be linked with the OP being on holiday.0 -
Life goes on, as long as it's not a last minute decision on a whim to go on holiday simply for heck of it then I can't see a problem.
I assume this holiday has been planned for sometime and as such is really no one else's business.:www: Progress Report :www:
