  • I realised that there's no way I could spend the rest of my life with the wife.

So I lost six stone and left her.

    Much happier now!

Not quite there yet, but my son is 10 and will be starting secondary school in September. I've given him my old phone and got him a PAYG sim, which he's immensely pleased about, and I've been sending him on practice runs to his new school. He's been allowed out and about on his own during daylight hours for about the last year.

I'm still trying to persuade him to get his own breakfast at the weekends, but he'd rather starve himself and wait until I get up. My daughter, however, is perfectly happy to raid the cupboards for food at the weekend, and she's only 7.

My eldest is 23 and about to move in with her boyfriend, my youngest is 16 - doing her A Levels and can't wait to leave for uni in 18 months. My partners two children are younger and stay with us frequently but are showing signs of not wanting to as they approach their teens, so we could go from a bustling family of up to 6 to just the two of us in a very short amount of time and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Only joking.....it will be different that's for sure and oh so quiet....and sad...but liberating...I hope.

  • My eldest turned 18 earlier this month. He's not going to university until 2017, so none have left the nest yet.

Felt really proud of my 15 year old on Wednesday. He'd arranged for a group of friends to go and see Deadpool. I picked up the 2 friends who live really close, and they met the rest there. Listening to them chat in the back of my car and they were just young adults. I felt so proud of them all (have known them for years as they were in nursery together).

My youngest is 10, so still quite dependent.

Strangely enough i often think what it will be like with no kids, no dogs... just me and him. We will either fall in love all over again or kill each other.

I realised she was a narcissist and after 20 years of hoping one day I'd be happy with her the lightbulb pinged and I realised she didn't have it in her to contribute to a relationship in a reasonable way.

So I ran for the hills.

    Miles happier out of it.

Thanks. Never thought I'd be "brave" enough to do it.

Lost my house, my wife and possibly my job and feel fantastic!
