Is it possible to download the Google Docs to the local hard drive?
If you are working on the downloaded Google Doc, can you upload it to the Google Drive and sent it by email?
Thanks

It also has a bit at the end about manually downloading the docs, editing and reuploading.
No need to send docs by email. Click the Share button and gdocs will send people a link to view/edit according to your preferences.1
