I'm up to £30 worth of 50ps so far.
I don't seem to need to dip in to mine as I also save £2 coins, £1 coins and 20 pence pieces. So I dip into those if I need to. I also have a jar for shrapnel-10s,5s, 2s and 1s.
I hate having a purse full of change so I sort it out several times a week. I only leave in about £1.80 in change, in various denominations so I always have change for parking-should I need it.
I am also very lazy and if I'm in a hurry, instead of putting my change back in my purse, I just drop it into my bag. So every week I find a few quid in the bottom of my bag.
This is just an insight as to how I get so many so quick.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I will need to make more of an effort through the later part of this year to get myself geared up for the 2017 thread.
Next year I am not going to dip into my tin at all - pinky promise!

Well done to you all for getting more 50ps this month. :j
I bought something yesterday and they didn't have any notes so they gave me over £10 worth of change. I now have over £30 in 50 pence pieces.
I have had a very expensive month so far and I need to cut right back.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

It's good that we had them to dip into.
Otherwise I would have added that to a credit card.
