"Minimum pay in" question

Options
I'm looking to switch my wife's account (with her permission of course!) to M&S bank. One of the offers is: "If you can commit to a minimum pay in, you now get an extra £10 added to the gift card each month for the first year when you deposit £1,000/mth."

The amount of salary getting paid in would be around £800. If this was topped up with £200 from my account (Nationwide account), does this count? Or does the £1000 need to come from a salary?

Thanks

If it says "deposited" and doesn't say anything about the salary, then it's exactly what is written on the tin.

However, to be 100% sure you can check the Switching Offer Terms and Conditions
...you pay £1,000 or more into your Qualifying Account (excluding internal transfers from other accounts held with us)...

There is only one exclusion for the monthly deposit(s), and that's the one in bracketed text in condition 6b of the incentive T&Cs.

    Anything else goes!

Indeed, in my case I have £1750 that 'visits' 8 accounts for about 2 minutes per month* :D

    * with the exception of the Coop which is annoyingly slow at reflecting inbound faster payments. They get the benefit of my money for about 30 minutes :o

With my Barclays account, I can pay in £200 a week and that qualifies for their £800 limit. I gave Halifax a ring and they said so long as total deposit equals their minimum requirement doesn't matter whether is a lump sum each month or several payments which add up to the amount. The same money can go in and out around accounts.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

You can't have expected them to say anything else, surely? If they had, then they would be excluding most of those paid weekly (other than professional footballers!), rather than monthly/4-weekly.
