No money

I have been suspended without pay from work since the 19th of January. Are there any benefits I can claim as I am running out of money and obviously have bills to pay and food to buy?

If you are suspended you would normally be on full pay, are you on a zero hour contract?

In previous posts you state that you have resigned from your previous job, no one can help you unless you give the true facts.
  • From previous threads, OP seems to have a minimum number of hours per year guaranteed. Through working overtime most weeks, she has exceeded the minimum number of hours and therefore her employer is not paying her while the investigation is ongoing.

What benefits are you currently claiming?

Have you got a partner who is working/ Children? Rent to pay?

Have you resigned from you job?

The answers to all these questions will make a difference.

In general ............because of your unusual situation I would be inclined to put in a claim for JSA and see what the outcome is.

Plus, if you have rent to pay you may be eligible for HB and CT reduction. (These can be claimed when you are on a low income and you do not have to be on JSA to receive them)

If you have children and/or a partner working then you may be eligible for tax credits.

if you are already claiming HB/CT reductioN/tax credits then you should notify them of the change of circumstances and go from there.

I'm on a contract for 20 hours a week. I have resigned and I leave on the 22 February.

Can't see Jsa being applicable since the op is on a course for a job at present so won't be looking for work

The only benefit I get I'd WTC abt £12 a week.

I have to 2 children, 1 on esa and the other is abt to claim jsa.

    I have no partner.

I have informed the council nd housing association of my situation. The fact is I need money to pay for food and bills!

Put in a claim for jsa and hb and cts. They might sanction you for resigning but you can try and appeal it.
You'll have to take board of the kids.

In your first post today you said you'd been suspended
    When did you resign ?
When does the training course start because you wouldn't be available for work which is a condition of claiming JSA.

I resigned on the 25th of January, so after my 2 weeks of annual leave I would have just a week left to work.

The training started last Monday and finishes this Friday.
