Remove credit card check from report

I recently registered with Quidco. I discovered one on their offers was £0 cashback when registering for a Tesco Credit Card. Therefore I decided to go for it. I currently have a Santander credit card with a £0 balance.
I attempted to complete the registration process for the Tesco credit card online, however it kept failing at the validation phase i.e. stating "please fill in all the fields". I tried a number of times.
Therefore I called the call centre and "finished" the process over the telephone. I have discovered that I am not entitled to the £30 cashback because I did not "finish" the process online.
Therefore I am planning to cancel the credit card and redo it online (hopefully it will let me this time). I was hoping that Tesco Bank would remove the first credit search from my report, however they have said they will only do this if they are at fault.
Is it worth me writing to them to ask them to remove the check?

Possibly. Not that it's a big deal either way though.0

As zx81 said its no big deal, just make a new application.
I noticed your thread on historical credit scores, you do know this stuff is all made up so people worry about it and pay lots of money each month to check if their random 3 digit number has gone up or down? It doesn't mean a thing, the only person who sees it is you, and you are spending a lot of time worrying about it. Spend the time enjoying yourself or making money, not feeding the industry that pretends it matters.
I hope you get it sorted and get your cashback - that is worth a little of your time, but the extra search really isn't worth worrying over0
