Bit of a run down.....
Bought house. Had damp issue in living room. Around windows were fine (seemingly).
Got guys out to fix up the damp. They turned out to be jokers. Around the windows was still fine (seemingly). The old original 1930s plaster was removed around the windows & it was plasterboarded as far as i can remember.
Got different guys out to do the damp job properly. Plasterboard around the windows removed, it was then plastered.
The damp side of things appears to have been sorted but now there is water getting in at the bottom corners of the main & side window in the living room - which was obviously never apparent before as i'd have brought their attention to it (& nope, it isn't possible i just never spotted it before).
They've ran some silicone down the edge outside but this hasn't worked. Blobbed it in the corner of the sill & this hasn't worked either.
Now window removal & renewing will be total last resort. I'm not sure what else we can try other than remove some of the plaster around the window & inspect from the inside & possibly try seal up from the inside & re-plaster.
Now, i wouldn't expect window renewal for free. I'm not taking the piddle.
But i personally would expect a section of plaster removed from the corner of the window to inspect from the inside & then seal & re-plaster for free. As it wasn't there beforehand & the chap has said they may have loosened something while knocking plasterboard off around there maybe (as one possibility).
