Putting washing outside

I'm not sure how much it is an age thing . It may have to do in part with living arragnements - if you live in a shared house or in flats etc there often isn't anywhere to dry clothes, and if you don't get to live somewhere with outside space early on you don't eget into the habit.
I've always worked full time, so I tend to do my washing at the wekends, which does limit when it is practical to put it outside, and I'm often at weekends so, particuarlly in winter, it can be hard to get it dry outside - I don't currently own a tumble dryer but I am thinking about getting one, particualrly as I no longer have an airing cupboard.
At the moment I have a outhouse / ex-garage and I can put stuff on an airer in there , but at this time of year it doesn't get completely dry unless I also put a heater and fan on, and it can be awkward for big things such as duvet covers.
I do put things out on the line put of doors when I can, and my neighbours (in their early 30s) do the same. However, I have often ended up with stuff getting wetter than when I put it out, if I have had to go out and leave it on the line.
my paretns (both fast approaching 70) have just bought a tumble dryer although I am sure they will continue to put things outside when the weather is suitable. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
