Collect Plus Issue

Hope you knowledgeable folk can help.
I bought something rare on eBay, seller sent it using collect plus and I tracked it online, yesterday it said delivered to customer, except it certainly wasn't delivered to me and I was in all day.
I emailed collect plus to query and after a little to and fro it transpires they have accidentally delivered it to a Schuh returns centre in another city!
They told me to ask the seller for a replacement or refund and they will investigate. Now I'm aware it's not me that's got the contract with collect plus but is there anything I can do?
The seller simply won't have another one due to the nature of the product, and I don't want a refund, I want my item! Can collect plus not go back and get it and deliver it to me? They know where it is!
I'm planning to phone Schuh tomorrow to speak to them, would even go and get it myself as I don't trust collect plus not to !!!! it up again.
Any advice would be good. I'm so grumpy, I got the item for a great price too.
