Recourse with hairdresser?

I think the length of the drive was unfortunate with heavy traffic, so the longest part of the ordeal would have been the treatment, which I would presume takes a similar length of time wherever booked?
I'd let her try again, I know you are reluctant with 'no guarantee', but it had a guarantee in effect - that she'd redo it if it didn't work. It doesn't mean she can predict the future or predict your (apparently unique?!) hair type, so rework is a kind of guarantee. Maybe agree with her before going that if it doesn't work this time, you'll expect a refund? Perhaps it was a bad batch of gunge, and this time she'll use a different batch just to be sure.
The kids, that's unfortunate and probably quite annoying, but may be reflected in the price? A salon chair might have added £7-10/hour to the procedure. Just a thought.
Anyway, I'm sure she'll try extra hard to get it right this second time, and that you'll be laughing this off one day, maybe when you're one of her regulars?? ;-)0 -
I'm sure you know each persons hair is different. Perhaps your health caused changes in your hair. It's a bit like a perm . Back in ' the day,' most times they would take occasionally they didn't, and again when I was pregnant my hair reacted differently again.
As a hairdresser, you seemed to be taking a risk getting your hair done by this person you didn't seem to know much about.
I'm not a hairdresser but I'm very picky who I let near my hair for any treatments that involve chemicals.better she used to weak a solution than too strong, because that could have resulted in your hair breaking or burns.0 -
Yes its not the journey, or even the kids really but the overall time it took. I, like most people, am very busy and it was meant to be a treat.
There was no risk to my hair as Keratin is a conditioning type of product rather than a harsh product. I DO know about hair types, but SHE ASSURED ME it worked on ALL HAIR TYPES and her Facebook page showed lots of good results - including mine when first done.
Please do not comment if you are just going to make assumptions about me or my hair. I asked for advice, not a grilling on my choice of hairdresser.0 -
Advice-don't choose your hairdresser from Facebook.0

I wonder if there is any information online about how effective this keratin treatment is? If it didn't work the first time, will a repeat treatment work.., is there a chance of causing damage if repeated?
Does her facebook page offer any guarantees etc?0 -
Deannatrois I have looked online but can't find any information regarding needing a second treatment. I'm pretty sure it won't damage my hair though as it is a conditioning substance. Thank you for your comments.
Hollydays you don't seem to have anything constructive to say really. Why not choose a hairdresser from Facebook - I saw several photos of hair she had done, lots of positive comments and no negative comments - you don't get that in a salon! Granted she no doubt would remove negative comments - but how do you choose a hairdresser unless by satisfied customers? So not really good advice you offer is it?
The hairdresser commented that my hair was very thick and she didn't get any more product so maybe she just didn't put enough on, I don't know. She certainly skimped on the shampoo. These are things that you wouldn't know until you were there.0
