I only did the application online with Santander they gave me an AIP then I clicked apply. So far nobody has phoned me or gone through any of the details. I only have an email with a tracking number asking for latest payslip which I uploaded yesterday. Could they have not actually done the credit check yet at this stage?0

just checked and santander definitely credit checked me correctly as the search is showing on my experian credit report. Im just so confused by all this.
How long do santander usually take to phone call me for the intiial advisor phone call? im on the tracker now, and it doesnt say anything about them calling me. just asks me to upload payslip which i have done. I know on the intermediary site it says current time to offer is average 8 days but if it takes them 6 days just to phone me for the appointment that will double the total time.
sorry for the rant!0 -
The Intermeiary website is not relevant if you are applying direct.I am a Mortgage Broker

amnblog, if santander do a soft search do they actually mean i have passed the credit score?
i have read somewhere that they only do public record searches for defaults etc at soft search stage. so on full app they can decline based on credit score still?0 -
I feel there must be more to your situation as I can't see why a broker would go to Kensington unless you had adverse credit or something unusual about the case, and by adverse credit I mean historic defaults, CCJ's, arrears etc.
Is this the case?
You've asked whether they'll request rental and employment references. Why is that a concern to you?I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.

Be a soft search. When you make a full application there'll be a thorough check using various sources. Not least to check that that what you declare ties in with what is found on file.0

theres never been any sort of default or anything as i had never taken out any loans of any sort prior to 7 months ago.
I asked as a general question as i know they ask for bank statements and payslips im just curious of any other forms of evidence they ask for so i can be prepared. as i have the estate agents on my bank now and need to be quick
everything i declared on dip was accurate. even down to a loan that i took out 3 months ago but hasnt appeared on my credit report yet. (furniture finance) took 12 weeks to be delivered.
nothing undeclared nothing hidden. Obviously i have a very thin credit file which causes me to have a experian rating of 550. just to confirm again there is absolutely no default, no missed payment, no ccj, no nothing on my reports from all 3 agencies.
I can only assume they recommend kensingston due to having limited history?0 -

but if i have passed the AIP soft search, everything declared honest and true would that mean i would pass the full check?
i just have this feeling that the AIP doesnt actually check elegibility. eg only checks for adverse things, but not historic data, or lack of good history?0 -
Things just dont add up as ive just got an AIP from TSB,Natwest, RBS, and Barclays by doing the online AIP checkers with soft searches.
Im starting to think AIP's actually mean nothing. Ive nothing to hide, nothing bad on any reports no nothing. I'm just getting so confused by all this!
The only thing thats wrong with my file is that prior to 7 months ago i had nothing on my credit report! I don't have a clue what to do at this stage and i guess im just hoping for the best.
im trying to apply for a house with value of 115000, 15% deposit of 17250 from my own savings. My annual basic income is 25000. nothing on top.
i also have an offer already accepted on a house0 -
