Phone bought abroad - can I insure it in the UK?

As above, I was on holiday in Singapore and bought a phone.
As per MSE's suggestion, I go to buy phone insurance from 'insurance2go', but notice it will not cover phones that are bought abroad.
Is it possible to buy insurance for my phone so that it is covered for damage, theft, and loss in the UK?

Google gadget insurance. There should be policies that cover the phone, but it may be the ones which provide cover worldwide rather than UK specific.
If you have Home Insurance where you live, check whether you can cover the phone under that policy. Be careful re the policy excess, as it may make it not worth it. Also make sure you have paperwork confirming you bought the phone from an authorised retailer. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
How likely do you think you are to lose or damage your phone? Are you accident prone? I've had mobile phones since 1993, never insured any of them, and never had a circumstance in which I would have needed to claim. I'm not sure how much it costs but if it's a fiver a month I'd have paid out around £1400 in premiums in that time.0
